ARTS, Arts for Rural Texas was founded so children in Fayette and neighboring counties may experience the joy of messy hands and colorful fingers.

For more than 30 years, schools across the country have steadily reduced art classes as a result of tighter budgets, state testing mandates, and all too often,a sense that art is lovely but not essential.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Art programs teach children to solve problems and make decisions while building self confidence and self-discipline.  But most importantly, art cultivates a child's imagination where the seeds of creativity are sown.

During the last year, more than 5,000 children participated in the Art After School, Summer Art Camp and Teen Workshop programs, along with  Fine Art Assemblies such as ballet, music and theater brought to local schools.

But there is more to do.

Our goals are ambitious but attainable with your support.

June begins our Season of Giving Campaign for ARTS.  We recently expanded our Art After School program to Sacred Heart and Flatonia so a total of 10 locations in Fayette County and the surrounding area are being served by ARTS.

We need your help and the children of Fayette County need your help.  Please consider being a part of this important and rewarding effort by giving generously.  You can make a pledge on our donations page.
